Haweswater is a reservoir on the eastern side of the Lake District. The combination of high mountains and ‘lake’ provide stunning views wherever you look.
At the head of the reservoir the mountains are home to the only Golden Eagle in England.
This ‘land of the eagle’ holds many other species including buzzards, raven, red deer, red squirrel and a host of other upland specialists and the ‘wildness’ of the valley is life affirming.
There are tarns from the time of the last ice age and a range of habitats from the shore line through woodlands and upland grasslands.
Haweswater provides accessible routes that get you close to wildlife and in to beautiful landscapes.
